Meet Kirsten | Founder & Pet Concierge
A lifelong animal lover, Kirsten spent more than 20 years building a career in leadership, customer service, and relationship management before following her heart and turning her love of animals into a career.
Her inspiration comes in part from Jake, her beloved Pomeranian and faithful companion of 14 years. Together, they navigated cross-country moves, career changes, new beginnings, and some of life's most difficult moments. Through it all, Jake was a constant source of companionship and unconditional love.
That bond shaped Kirsten's belief that pets are truly family—and inspired her to create Reining Cats and Dogs to provide the thoughtful, dependable, personalized care she would have wanted for Jake.
Whether she's caring for a playful puppy, spending quiet time with a senior cat, or looking after a client's pets and home while they're away, Kirsten approaches every visit with patience, attention to detail, and genuine affection. Her professional background also brings something equally important to pet care: reliability, clear communication, and a deep sense of responsibility.
Kirsten's dedication to animals extends beyond her business through her volunteer work with Emerald City Pet Rescue, helping animals in need find loving homes.
Her philosophy is simple: Every pet deserves to be treated with the same love, respect, and care we would want for our own.
Meet Hannah | Senior Pet Concierge
Hannah has been caring for animals alongside Kirsten for years—first as her niece and helper, and today as Senior Pet Concierge at Reining Cats and Dogs. Growing up around Kirsten's pet care work gave Hannah an early understanding that pets aren't simply animals we look after; they're members of the family.
Hannah has hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, personalities, and needs. Her experience includes dog walking, in-home pet sitting, overnight care, cat visits, and medication administration. She approaches each visit with patience and attentiveness, taking time to learn each pet's routine and help them feel safe and comfortable while their people are away.
A full-time student at Seattle University studying social work with a minor in psychology, Hannah brings empathy, patience, clear communication, and a calm, thoughtful approach to her work.
What Hannah enjoys most is building relationships with the pets she cares for and earning their trust over time. She understands that exceptional pet care isn't simply completing a checklist—it's noticing the little things and caring for each pet as an individual.
Meet Parker | Pet Concierge
Parker has loved animals for as long as he can remember and has been part of the Reining Cats and Dogs family from the beginning—both as Kirsten's nephew and as a trusted member of the pet care team.
Parker has hands-on experience with dog walking, cat care, in-home pet visits, overnight stays, and multi-pet households. Responsible, detail-oriented, and calm, he takes time to understand each pet's personality, routine, and individual needs.
Currently a student at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business, Parker brings a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility to everything he does. His years working in a family-owned restaurant have also strengthened his patience, communication skills, and understanding of what it means to be someone others can depend on.
What Parker enjoys most is getting to know each pet and seeing their personality come through as they become comfortable with him. Whether he's heading out for a dog walk, checking in on a cat, or caring for a client's pets and home while they're away, he approaches the responsibility with kindness, attentiveness, and respect.
Meet Lori | Pet Concierge
Lori has always had a special connection with animals. Growing up, she cared for guppies, hamsters, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, and eventually a horse. That lifelong love shapes the attentive, personal care she brings to every pet.
Since moving to Seattle in 1996, Lori has built a family and a career as a design leader, entrepreneur, community activist, and picture book author. Above all, she values trusted relationships and positive connections between people, animals, and nature.
A mom to two human children and several beloved cats over the years, Lori recently adopted Chance, her foster puppy who became a permanent member of the family. She brings integrity, experience, and dedicated care to every visit, treating your pets as an extension of her own family.
Lori also founded Poogooder, a grassroots community movement that encourages responsible dog ownership and cleaner, healthier neighborhoods. “Let’s do some good today” is her guiding motto—a spirit she brings to caring for animals, connecting with their people, and giving back to her community.
